Robert Edward Waylett
Sunrise, FL — Robert Edward Waylett, age 86, of Sunrise, Florida died Thursday, September 13, 2012, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease.
   Born November 21, 1925 in New Haven, Connecticut, to the late Hazel and Percy Waylett, Bob served in the US Navy during WWII. In 1947, Bob married Catherine Steede, who predeceased him after 48 years of marriage. Bob and Kay spent their early years in Albany, New York, where he was employed by the Burroughs Corporation. They later relocated to Gloversville, New York, where Bob was employed as an executive with the Nelson A. Taylor Company from 1958 until his retirement. His work with the Taylor organization took Bob and his family to Waxahachie, Texas, Kendall ville, Indiana, and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
   Bob was an avid recreational sailor whose love of the wind and water took him up and down the East Coast. As members of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Gloversville, Bob and Kay were especially active in the church’s annual art show. Bob’s sense of humor and love of people dominated both his professional and his personal life, and he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
   He is survived by his six children, Thomas (Barbara) Waylett, Lynn (Anthony) Arico, Wesley (Laurie) Waylett, Jay (Bonita) Waylett, Kathryn Waylett, and Carol (Richard) Gabrielly; 12 grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth, Thomas Jr., Christopher, Cameron, Catherine, Patricia, Brandon, Jay, Amanda, Alexander, and Maxwell, as well as five greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
   The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Collette Brookes of American Nursing Resources, Inc. for her dedication and loving care during Bob’s illness.
   Private services to remember Bob are being planned in both Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and in Gloversville, NY.
